Stage 3 Clutch Daily Driver For Mac

I have a feeling my clutch will be going out soon. Anyways, I like being prepared.

So a) What is the difference between a Spec Stage 1, 2, or 3 clutch. I know 3 is higher performance than 2 and what not. But do they feel different, harder to work? What would be the ideal one to get? It will be going on a 3.4L Camaro T-5.

That might one day see upto 200 rwhp with 3.42-3.73 posi rear end. Maybe a low 14 sec car in the future. However, most likely It will be just used for a daily driver. So I'm thinking probably stage 1? Does stage 2/3 last longer? B) What do I need to do to break in the clutch. Rev it upto 4k a couple times and drop it righ?

I have never driven a spec stage 1 car, but supposedly it is the same as stock. As far as driveability and difference in price goes - if you plan on modifying your car at all, there seems to be no reason to get a 1 instead of a 2. I installed a spec stage 2 in my 00 LS1. Spec will tell you to drive the car gently for 500 'city' miles (i.e. Lots of stop and go).

I broke mine in appropriately and it has been good to me so far. I love the spec stage 2, it is perfect for my application. I have a bolt-on car and will be adding a cam shortly.but I don't plan on being stupid fast anytime soon.

It is also the car that I drive every day, so I needed a clutch that wouldn't kill my damn leg in city traffic. The stage 2 drives like a stock clutch SHOULD come from the factory. It is very nice and firm, but it has a bit of 'slip' to it so it is not an on/off clutch. In my eyes it is a perfect compromise between street and strip.

My car sees the 1/8th mile dragstrip every week and runs low 8's, the clutch is perfect. My bf's blown LT1 car has a stage 3 and it would not be fun to drive everyday, in my opinion. It doesn't have a lot of give to it and is a little heavy to push in.

He makes well over 500hp though so it was necessary for him to get something that could take a severe beating! I would imagine the stages would be similiar on a V6 car.I would recommend stage 2.

How many miles do you drive it everyday? It doesn't feel any different then the stock one did? I loved my clutch it was so easy to go.

Compared to some other manuals I've driven I could literally dump it and it wouldn't stall. I may not keep my car that long. So I don't want to spend a lot if thats the case. But, If I keep it I may add a mildly-agressive cam, 3.73 posi, cai, pullies, and headers and AIM for 180 RWHP.
